Text Box: James & Rita Johnson
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors
Text Box: The love of the church made them feel comfortable and strengthened them to continue to walk in their new way of life. (This is where we left off in the September Newsletter).
With James and Rita both now attending church, they decided to give their marriage one more chance. They knew the one thing they must do now is to stay focused on Jesus. Word of Life has a Bible School (School of Life) that they started attending in the spring of 2000. Soon after, they started school, they began helping by running tapes of the classes so that students could purchase tapes of the classes. They also helped make workbooks for the students.
They completed both years of the School of Life. They were at church four nights per week and on Sunday mornings. If there were any special events going on, they signed up to help. They knew, that without Jesus, they would fall back into a life of addiction.
James and Rita, now having a good foundation; has opened a ministry in Sand Springs, OK, “Freedom Recovery and Restoration” to help others who have made a mess of their lives to know that:
God loves them,
that there is hope,
that they don’t have to live their lives in bondage to addiction, and
that there is help available for them.

Editors note:
I can see from this story and from knowing James and Rita personally, that one must strive to submerge ones self in Jesus until the very thought of submitting to the temptations and cravings of the old self are repulsive and sickening.
